Developing strategic emerging industries has become a strategic option for manycountries and regions to create new sources of economic growth and achievesustainable development. It has considerable realistic significance on theimprovement of China’s industrial structure and the transformation of the way inwhich economy grows to develop strategic emerging industries. In recent years,correlational researches on strategic emerging industries have drawn high attentionfrom the theory circle, the government, and enterprises. The development of thestrategic emerging industrial corporations, especially their start-up-stage, will give agreat boost to the prosperity of strategic emerging industries. However, the academiccircle still studies strategic emerging industries from an industrial perspective atpresent. Few researches focus on the micro level, and less studies aim at thedeveloping mode on start-up stage. Therefore, it will be of great theoretical andrealistic significance to study the development of strategic emerging industries from aview of start-up stage during the corporate life circle.The development mode of a corporation has an influence not only on the presentand future development condition, but also on the prosperity of the corporations.According to the characteristics of the industry and the phrase of the life circle thecorporation is in and its own characteristics, an appropriate development mode thatsuits the corporation could be induced. In view of this, strategic emerging industrialcorporations on the start-up stage share the general characters of both the corporationsin strategic emerging industries and those on the start-up stage. Also, they have theirown special characteristics. Three major existing development modes of strategicemerging industrial corporations are to be analyzed and compared according to theirshared characteristics so as to generalize a reasonable mode with which to offer someguidance and reference for the corporations.Multiple research techniques are applied in this thesis, such as documentarymethod, comparative analysis, brainstorm, expert consultation, and induction. Aftersystemizing the major achievements both home and abroad in theoretical research onstrategic emerging industries, this thesis firstly defines the concept and connotation of strategic emerging industries and strategic emerging industrial corporations. Secondly,it analyzes the shared characteristics of strategic emerging industrial corporations andthe personality traits of those on the start-up stage. Then it summarizes the internaland external factors which affect development and concludes the three existingdevelopment modes in our country. Lastly, according to the characteristics of strategicemerging industrial corporation and the guiding ideology of development modeselection, it comes up with a mixed development model which is both marketoriented and self-innovation focused as a feasible mode. Moreover, the modelprovides the corresponding implementation process.
