The Influence Of Intercity Rail Transportation On The Integrated Development Of Urban Agglomerations

Because the Intercity Rail Transportation had a dual advantage of technology andeconomic，then it became an important factor affecting the development of urbanagglomeration integration．Based on existing research results，this paper analyzed themechanism that the Intercity Rail Transportation affecting the development of urbanagglomeration integration，and verified relevant research using the experiences of theTokaido urban agglomeration in Japan and the New York urban agglomeration in theUnited States．Further，through the modified gravity model and network analysismethod，studies how the Intercity Rail Transportation impact on the development ofintegration in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration．In summary, this paperobtained the following main conclusions．The mechanism about the Intercity Rail Transportation affecting thedevelopment of urban agglomeration integration mainly displays in threeaspects．First，by promoting the internal elements flowing lead to the same effectbetween the cities．Second，by promoting the spatial structure evolution in the urbanagglomeration，impel the evolution towards network structure．Thirdly，enhancing theindustrial agglomeration and diffusion of urban agglomeration，driving real estateindustry、high-tech industry and labor intensive industry between the cities along thetransit，then promoting the industrial division and coordinated economic developmentbetween cities．The experiences about Tokaido urban agglomeration and the New York urbanagglomeration have shown that the Intercity Rail Transportation is not only theimportant means of solving the traffic congestion and the dense economic，even moreimportant is the significant impetus to develop the urban agglomerationintegration．And it plays an important role in the process of promoting thedevelopment of urban agglomeration integration．The Intercity Rail Transportation is an important factor to promote thedevelopment of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration integration．With thedevelopment of Intercity Rail Transportation，the level of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration development enhances unceasingly．Main features as follow，theIntercity Rail Transportation reinforce the network development trend of the PearlRiver Delta urban agglomeration，strengthen the internal contact in the urbanagglomerations，trigger the adjustment on internal relations in the urbanagglomeration，promote the division development in the urbanagglomeration．However，the Intercity Rail Transportation can’t change the core-edgestructure of Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, even have the potential tostrengthen the structure．From the point of demand to promote the development of our urbanagglomeration integration，we should attach great importance to play the role of theIntercity Rail Transportation on urban agglomeration integration．Based on the globalof urban agglomeration integration development，complete the Intercity RailTransportation system planning，perfect the rail transportation system，and payattention to avoid the adverse effect on the Intercity Rail Transportation developmentfor urban agglomeration integration．...
