The Research For Evaluation Of The Competitiveness Of Iron And Steel Enterprises

As China’s reform and opening up process speed up, and economic globalizationgoes faster and faster, the competition among enterprises is increasingly fierce. Becauseof the influence of economic crisis, many kinds of problems appear in iron and steelenterprises, such as oversupply, rising cost of raw materials, dropping prices of steel,lower profits, continuous loss and so on. More and more enterprises realize that they mustraise their competitiveness in the market to get long-term survival and sustainabledevelopment.In order to analze the influence factors of competitiveness of iron and steelenterprises in China, it, using the statistical method, selects22indicators ofcompetitiveness that include financial capacity, production and sales ability, operationability, development and technology innovation ability. The five categories what arementioned above make up the index system. By using the principal component analysisand cluster analysis method, the article selects23listed steel companies in China as theresearch object to analyze the problem. Then it gets the score of companies, and theindividual ranking and the overall ranking, meanwhile, it evaluates this result. Accordingto all the analyses, it gives countermeasures to raise the competition ability of the ironand steel enterprises, which are following: an enterprise with poor financial ability shouldtake benefit as the center, reduce the cost and improve asset utilization, the enterprisewith poor management ability should speed up the asset operation, increase the turnoverand the level of education of the top management, the enterprise with poor operatingcapacity should focus more on growth, pay more attention to the employee incentive toimprove staff motivation, the enterprise with poor technological innovation ability shouldincrease investment in research and development, lay emphasis on training of technologyinnovation ability, build the technology innovation platform.
