Especially since the founding of the reform and opening up, China's steel industry has made considerable progress. Despite rapid progress, large output, but it must be cool to see the rapid development of China's steel industry and steel behind the threats and weaknesses of their own gaps. This paper aims on the competitiveness of Chinese steel companies to analyze, for the iron and steel enterprises to improve competitiveness in the provision of effective ways and methods.This article tries to constructs enterprise competitive power analysis frame mode of our country Iron and steel industy from the steel and iron industry competitive power, the Iron and steel enterprise value chain, the Iron and steel enterprise realistic competitive power, the Iron and steel enterprise core competitiveness and the Iron and steel enterprise competitive power to appraise several aspects, unifies the concrete enterprise to carry on the real diagnosis.This main research work and the innovated spots including:(1) analyzes the competitive power of our steel and iron industry with industrial economics pattern S-C-P (structure- conduct-performance) and constructes Chinese steel and iron industry analysis frame model, carries on the analysis of our steel and iron industry from macroscopic and the microscopic level, the microscopic analysis focus on the industrial chain, the market and the time dimensions, will analyze the negotiate ability of upstream supplier, the negotiate ability of downstream customers, the competitor situation, the substitute competitive power, future steel and iron market power balances and so on growth situation and potential entrant threat, the macroscopic anlysis focus on the policies and regulations to steel and iron industry;(2) establishes the Iron and steel enterprise value chain fundamental model by using the Port's value chain fundamental model as a starting point, analyzes the strategic competitive power constitution of Iron and steel enterprise, including the realistic competitive power and the latent competitive power two parts, and has carried on the correlation analysis to its influencing factor, finally unifing the Iron and steel enterprise value chain related activity, established a competitive advantage source analysis model of iron and steel, analyses the enterprise realistic competitive power separately from value chain basic activity and auxiliary activity;(3) analyzes the Iron and steel enterprise core competition characteristic, proposed the Iron and steel enterprise core competitiveness model and the stage characteristics, and unifing the Iron and steel enterprise competitive advantage to analyze Iron and steel enterprise core competitiveness endogenetic and outside the natural disposition, proposed the Iron and steel enterprise core competitiveness dynamic management process, mainly in core competitiveness recognition and cultivation.(4) constructs the Iron and steel enterprise competitive power appraisal theoretical model and the evaluating indicator system from the realistic competitive power, the latent competitive power and the achievements competitive power three aspects, then using methods such as analytic hierarchy process, entropy power method, factor analytic method, synthesis exponential method and combing the concrete enterprise to carry on the empirical analysis and the appraisal.
