Reseach On The Application Of Milk-run On Automobile Parts Inbound Logistics

With the developing of China’s automobile manufacturing industry, leanproduction is widely implemented by many automakers, in order to achieve therequirements of lean production, many domestic automakers are paying more andmore attention to optimize inbound logistics system of parts, the traditional inboundlogistics mode which is supplier sending parts to automakers’ directly is not meet thematerials demanding of automakers. Because the material that are picked up by themode milk-run have the characteristic of "many varieties, small batch, highfrequency", this mode can dramatically reduce the inventory level of automobilesupply chain, optimize the inbound logistics system and meet the lean productiondemanding of manufacturers, milk-run is widely applied in domestic automobilemanufacturing industry. Duing to the complexity of the operation of milk-run, thetheory and application research of milk-run is confined to short-distance suppliers, butthe research is absence for the long-distance suppliers.Combining the developmentsituation of the parts manufacturing enterprise and the automobile manufacturingindustry demanding of lean production, it is absolutely necessarily for implementingmilk-run mode for long-distance suppliers, how to implement milk-run smoothly forlong-distance parts suppliers is a inevitable project for automakers to face.Combining the actual project experience of the writer in W company, taking thelong-distance parts suppliers as research object, this paper adopts the methodcombining qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and empirical research to solvethe problem of long-distance suppliers’ milk-run.Firstly, this paper introduces the research background and the significance ofmilk-run, summarizing the research actuality on milk-run in domestic and aboard,based on this, this paper introduces the concept of inbound logistics and emphaticallyintroduces the concept of milk-run. Secondly, in combination with several applicationexamples of milk-run in SGM and CSVW, this paper analyses the actuality of inboundlogistics and the problems that are existing in the application of milk-run, based on this, this paper analyses the conditions of implementing of milk-run on long-distancesuppliers. Thirdly, aiming at the characteristic of the long-distance parts suppliers’milk-run, this paper emphatically analyses the selection of the SCC, the design of thevehicle routing problem, the design of milk-run process of long-distance suppliers, thedesign of information system and the design of business system. Finally, taking Wcompany as a example, this paper make a empirical analysis for the implementation ofmilk-run, with a comprehensive analysis of the actuality of inbound logistics of Wcompany, the writer puts forward a set of milk-run solutions suitable for thelong-distance parts suppliers of W company after the operation of more than a year inW company, proofing the feasibility and effectiveness of the solutions.
