As major service-oriented enterprises in domestic auto market, automobile 4S shop's profit of spare parts sales and maintenancebe up to 70% of the after-sales service link.But, in view of the inventory management of the spare partscurrently, one side, dead stockoccupies a lot of capital; the other hand, frequentlystock out lowers customer service level. Therefore, the study of inventory management of spare parts has direct economic value.First, studies the classification of automobile 4S shop'spare parts and corresponding inventory management strategy, based upon analyzing four control characteristics of maintenance spare parts:criticality,specificity, demand pattern, and value of parts on logistics system elements:network structure, positioning of materials, responsibility of control, and control principles, this paper analysis thecontrol requirements of different types of spareparts, and the inventory management strategyrelated to them.According to the classification results of 4S shop'spare parts,Standard parts have great demand and are required by all 4S shop, so a local standard parts distribution center is feasible. It can make the suppliers' transportation realize scale economies effect and risk sharing, in the meantime provide just in time delivery service for downstream 4S shops. Based on Echelon Inventorytheory, we show thatlocal standard parts distribution center can reduce system'safety stock level.For F brand's4S shops as an example, adopting cross median method, locates standard parts distribution center for five 4S shops in Chengdu. And then sets minimize distribution costs as the goal, solve the vehicle routing problem.To sum up, this paper studies auto spare parts logistics management strategy from three aspects. First, spare parts classification and correspondinginventory managementstrategy; second, value analysis of the locates standard parts distribution center; last, location of distribution center for auto stand parts. The method and result of this paper can be apply to 4S shops of other automobile brand.
