Study On NPI Project Management Mode Of Mobile Storage Device Based On Lean Thinking

More and more multinational companies set up their mass production centerbeyond their research and development center for manufacturing and product costreduction to Chine under the globalizing economic developing. At the same time, asthe modern product updates very quickly, new product quickly and low costintroduction are becoming to be the critical point for a company to lead to success.Lean production is through changes in the personnel organization, systemstructure, operation mode and other aspects of market supply and demand, so that theproduction system can adapt quickly to the changing customer demands. Leanproduction is the best production management system that can make the productionprocess all useless, superfluous things are streamlined, and get the best result inmarket supply and all aspects of production. Lean production has been used more andmore in recent years. How to use lean production method and can it be used in newproduct introduction project? This is a problem need to be considered in manymanufacturing company that plan to introduce lean production.This thesis will research the using of ‘lean thinking’ in mobile storage companiesNPI project. It will draw on the research achievements of lean production at home andabroad, use the method of theory with practice and refer the case study in YKcompany. This paper firstly introduces the related theory of Lean production and NPIproject management, come up with the necessity and feasibility of lean thinking usingin NPI project management. Then focus on the implementation of improvement of NPI project management based on lean thinking. The NPI project managementincludes staff recruitment and training, procurement of equipment, materialsprocurement, production line balance, production process optimization, inventorymanagement and improvement,5S and TPM improvement items. All these items willapply lean thinking to the research and improvement. At last the experience andlessons of lean thinking implementation in YK Company NPI project management isintroduced.Through this study, combined with practical and effective results achieved in YKcompany, lean thinking can be successfully used in mobile storage device NPI projectmanagement is been proven. It can eliminate waste and reduce production cost,thereby can enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises finally.
