In today’s fast changing market environment, enterprises are now in a place whererisks and opportunities coexist. The unpredictability of the market demand and theincreasing price on raw materials as well as human labor has brought enormouspressure to companies’ survival. While traditional management method may helpcompanies’ growth at an initial phase, a more scientifically approved managementmethod is much needed if the companies wish to succeed in the market. That’s whereLean Six Sigma comes in. By integrating Lean Production and Six Sigma, Lean SixSigma is an effective management strategy offering maximum client satisfaction toensure enterprises’ long last profit.Due to its advanced level of technology in product development, company L hasbeen active in the area of bio production. This dissertation aim to analyze thefeasibility of the applying Lean Six Sigma to Company L through looking into theLean Six Sigma DMAIC process on specific projects and its possible problems duringthe improvement and finally analyzing the results. Specifically, this paper mainlyexplores the following aspects of the study:In the first part, the thesis focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of thelean production and Six Sigma respectively, and then presents brief definitions of bothof them. When the significance of integrating the lean production and Six Sigma isindicated, the thesis proposes the definition of Lean Six Sigma.In the second part, the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC process structure is introduced,and the DMAIC process is studied. Combined with the SWOT analysis of L Company,the article analyzes the feasibility of Lean Six Sigma in L. Based on the project ofimproving Lactobacillus acidophilus freeze-drying powder unstable quality, theDMAIC process is introduced and the conclusion is presented.Finally, the thesis sums up the whole essay and points out the aspects of furtherresearch.
