Bulk raw material information consultancy industry started from late1990s inChina, and reached a stage of maturity after the development of more than ten years.BAIINFO was established in the transition period from the start stage to the maturity.Due to the service nature of information consultancy, and it can be duplicated easily,so the homogeneity of products led to highly competition between differententerprises and relatively low profits of the whole industry. As one of the bulk rawmaterial information providers, BAIINFO is also facing fierce competition, therefore,in order to get better development and adapt to market competition of informationindustry, it’s necessary to design appropriate strategy based on the actual situation.Based on basic theory and method of strategy management and macro and microenvironment of information consultancy industry, this paper fixes the strategy vision,strategy aims and its implementation and execution process, and thus establishes theappropriate development and competitive strategy for the company.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this paper analyses the development history and current situation ofBAIINFO.Secondly, with the theory and method of strategy management, the internal andexternal environment of BAIINFO’s development was analyzed, including the macroand micro aspects. Adopting Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model, it analyses thecurrent competitors, pressures and threats from the potential to enter into the industry,the competition from the substitutes, the bargaining power of suppliers and buyers etc.This paper also analyses the opportunities and challenges, studying on the company’sstrengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with SWOT analyzing method.Thirdly, with studies on the overall situation of the company, BAIINFO adoptsthe growth-oriented development strategy, and against the completion with othercompanies, BAIINFO adopts the differentiation strategy.Finally, this paper summarizes BAIINFO’s development pattern and method ofmaking strategies and looks into the prospect of its future development.
