IE Methods Practice Study In A Company’s Efficiency Improvement

With the20years high-speed development, manufacturing industry now isfacing severe challenge and It s urgent for each company to improve productionefficiency and reduce cost. There are two typical of fierce competition andproduct homogeneity problems in A company s industry with many yearsdevelopment. Hence, In such a tough market competition situation, it s importantto improve internal production efficiency to reduce product cost.Industry engineer theory and method obtained remarkable development andapplication with the development of both Yangtze river delta and Zhu Jiang riverdelta manufacturing and It s considered as a powerful tool to improve productionefficiency and reduce cost. In this paper, three IE methods which areman-machine operation analysis、process analysis and flexible production systemdesign has been used to improve A company s three different workshopproduction efficiency.In SMT and testing workshop efficiency improvement, testing line stationefficiency problems are identified by IE line balance theory implication andcombined with automation technology and5W question skills and ECRSguidelines, line station capacity unbalanced problems are solved by usingman-machine operation analysis.In assemble workshop efficiency improvement, production materialdistribution manpower waste is identified by application of IE process analysis tool. With the automatic guide vehicle application, a lot of valid waste processsuch as distribution、waiting、 WIP and so on are reduced to improve assembleworkshop production efficiency.In packing workshop efficiency improvement, the problem of small batchmore varieties in packing production is solved by the automatic material sortingsystem design with the guidance of lean production theory and implication ofstatistical regression tool and effectively improve packing workshop productionefficiency.
