Study On Cost-benefit Of Cucumber In Shandong Province

Cucumber as one of the seven major vegetables, which has a high food value, nutritional value and medicinal value. But open field cucumber planting influenced by natural factors, low income;greenhouse cucumber planting has an small effect on natural factors, but it has higher cost, lower profit. Therefore, this article aims to open field cucumber and greenhouse cucumber cultivation, analysis of the cucumber costs and benefits data form 2011 to 2013,which has a very important practical significance in Shandong Province.Firstly, the cost-benefit structure of cucumber planting in Shandong Province are analyzed in this article.Secondly,according to cucumber planting area and production, selection of the 17 major provinces and cities as the research object, compared with cucumber cost-benefit situation among 17 major provinces and Shandong Province.Finally,for the determination production efficiency of cucumber planting in Shandong province,select the 17 major cucumber producing provinces as the decision-making unit,and select per unit area of production value as output variables, material and service cost, labor cost and land cost as input variables. Under the premise of variable returns to scale,using DEA-Malmquist index model determining TEP and related index,and using DEA-BC2 model determining technical efficiency from the investment point of view.Cost-benefit structure analysis shows that:cucumber planting total costs are higher mainly due to the increase in production costs, and labor costs account for the cost of production has exceeded the proportion of material and service costs, as the primary factors that affect the total costs.About income, the total revenue of Shandong Province cucumber cultivation has increased, which the open field cucumber cultivation increase in net profit, but greenhouse cucumber planting net profit and it’s in the proportion of cash income declined,this is mainly due to the greenhouse cucumber planting increasing opportunity cost.Comparative cost-benefit analysis shows that:compared with the national average data from 2011 to 2013,the total costs of the cucumber planting in Shandong province on the high side and growing, and the increasing rise in labor costs contributed to the rise in their production costs,which leads to the increase of the total costs. Despite total revenue increases but the increase in the opportunity cost of making the net profit of less than the national average,the total cost profit rate,labor costs profit rate and material costs profit rate are lower than the national average.In general, the cucumber planting in Shandong province economic benefit is lower than the national average.Cucumber planting production efficiency determination showed:the production efficiency of the longitudinal analysis showed that open field cucumber planting in Shandong province increases TFP,but greenhouse cucumber planting declining from 2011 to 2013;and horizontal analysis showed that the cucumber planting in Shandong province redundant input indicators,but increasing returns to scale in 2013. Finally, according to cucumber cultivation cost-benefit analysis in Shandong Province, by improving the mechanization level, expand the scale of planting, increasing subsidies and the rational allocation of resources to reduce the cucumber cultivation costs and improve the cucumber planting income.
