Operation Management Study In Flexible Manufacturing From Asteel Flash

With the emergence of High Mix-Low Volume production mode, the problems of operation management in the electronic manufacture service enterprises have become more and more prominent. This kind of production pattern requires high level of management ability, management consciousness and management behavior. Electronic manufacture service enterprises need to take the flexible operation management ideas and relevant tools in order to overcome these difficulties and maintain its own development. Asteel Flash Electronics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. is a typical electronic manufacture service enterprise. Since its inception, it has always been driven and guided by the goal of becoming the pioneer in electronic manufacture service industry. However, in recent years, due to factors including intensified competition in the industry, the diversification and personalization of customer requirements and the rising cost of human resources in our country, the company faces some problems towards operation management.This paper first analyzes these problems, which include the low efficiency of production changing over line, unreasonable production line planning, the decrease of the quality of product, the poor improper methods of raw material inventory, weak supplier quality management and undesirable operation control of the plant. This study analyses and diagnoses these problems deeply. Combined with theories and tools which relates to operation management of the flexible manufacturing, lean production, the production plan, supplier management as well as the performance appraisal, the study proposes some specific improvement measures in order to solve those problems mentioned above. The measures include improving production line, planning the production area, reformulating the inventory and supplier management methods and changing the performance evaluation way. In the conclusion part, the research summarizes the effect after these improvement measures are implemented. Then the author puts forward the research direction towards the operation management of electronic manufacture service industry.This study analyses the present condition of a typical electronic manufacture service industry in China and integrates the problems with related operation management theories. The research has particular practical significance and can provide the operation management of same type enterprises in China with some improving ideas and suggestions.
