A Study On The Influence Factors Of The Tourism Industry Competitiveness In Fujian Province

As the world economy developed steadily, from the rise till now, tourism has become the leading industry of tertiary industry. Given the development upsurge of tourism, it has become the key developing industry in multi-national and multi-regional, as a result, tourism competitiveness has drawn comprehensive concern and attention. Fujian has the advantageous geographical position, abundant resources and the tourism between it and Taiwan develops very quickly, so it has the favorable condition to develop the tourism. The development plan of the Economic Zone on the West Side of the Straits provided the security and opportunity for the economic and tourism development of Fujian province in 2011, too. In that context, the paper has mainly researched the influencing factors of tourism competitiveness in Fujian.This paper starts from industries’competitiveness, using a combination of competition advantage theory, core competence theory and sustainable development theory to analyze and summarize the influencing factors of tourism competitiveness, including talents, infrastructure construction, environmental quality, economic development level, transportation, dining and market demand. In this paper, we have followed the principle of scientific, comprehensive and authority, selected the indicators which could reflect all influencing factors, and used the relevant data to test tourism in Fujian empirically, computed every influencing factor’s influence degree to the tourism in Fujian, at last, we can draw conclusions by comparing those data. This paper compensates for the weakness of previous research which just consider cross-sectional data by using time series model, this could extend temporal continuance and provide the base to sustainable development of tourism in Fujian.Under the frame of "theoretical analysis-situation analysis-empirical analysis", this paper combines the actual conditions of tourism in Fujian, draws the following conclusions by analyzing and summarizing every influencing factor:talents, infrastructure construction, environmental quality and market demand enhanced tourism competitiveness, while economic development level inhibited tourism competitiveness, and the long-term equilibrium relationship between transportation, dining and tourism competitiveness does not exist. The detailed analysis is conducted on the result and problem of empirical analysis, and then on the base of learning from the developed provinces advanced experience, this paper gives some countermeasures to promote the tourism competitiveness basing on theories and empirical conclusion mentioned above. For example, strengthen talent development, improving the quality, technique and service level of associate staff; increasing capital investment, strengthen infrastructure construction; increasing the green area, enforcing management of pollutants discharge; developing overall economies of Fujian province, optimizing industrial structure, promoting industrial upgrading; intensifying infrastructure construction such as transportation, dining, scenic spots and scenic areas, developing tourist commodities vigorously, strengthening the brand construction; exploring market potential, expanding tourist market size, taking advantage of geographic locations to develop the tourism between Fujian and Taiwan; establishing and improving rules and regulations to meet the needs of the tourism develop.
