The Relationship Between Economic Growth And 9Industrial Structure In Resource-based Area

The relationship between economic growth and industrial structure has been an hot topic all around the world for a long time. Industrial structure changes with the development of economic as well as in turn affect it, they are interdependent and inseparable. Industrial structure is an important factor to the growth of economic, it is closely related with the level of regional economic. Industrial structure refers to the interrelated and interdependent of every sectors in a country or region, including proportional relationships and aggregation state. Rational industrial structure can not only improve the development level within the industry, but also enable various industries development coordinately and healthily, thus contribute to the development of the entire region economic. The relationship of industrial structure and economic development of each region changes with the development of social and economic, as well as the function of three industries.As a typical resource-based area, Shanxi Province relying on its abundant coal resources for years, has made certain achievements in resource exploitation and economic growth. These has increased the development level of regional economic significantly, and has made tremendous contributions for the whole country’s economic growth. However, the development of Shanxi Province relies too much on the extraction and procession of resource, which resulting in the single industrial structure, poor stability of the economic growth and the serious environment pollution, all of those has constrained the further growth of economic. In the new stage of development, Shanxi Province need to change the growth mode and adjust the industrial structure to ensure a steady and healthy growth of regional economy.In this paper, we analysis the industrial structure and economic development of Shanxi Province based on the theories and empirical researches of industrial structure, provide the relationship of industrial structure and economic by econometric model, and made relevant policy recommendations.
