An Empirical Analysis Of The Relationship Between The Industrial Structure And Economic Growth In Shanxi Province

Since reformation and opening, China's Shanxi Province as an important energy and heavy chemical industry base, has got great achievements in economic development. However, there are still many problems in adjusting and optimizing the industrial structure of Shanxi, which have become obstacles to economic growth. This article made a study on the relation of the industrial structure adjustment and economic growth, and tried to find countermeasures in order to give suggestions for the promotion of healthy economic development in Shanxi Province.This article mainly take the reference of the structuralism thery. On the base of foreign studies,the article first made a study on the industrial structure of Shanxi by means of comparative labour productivity and the deviation of industrial structure.Secondly, in the use of multivariate regression models of contributions in economic progress made by industrial structure, an conclusion has made that the rank according to their importance, from most to least significant are secondary industry, tertiary industry, and primary industry. Finally, this article made a study on the benefits of each industry within the three major industries by means of comparative labor productivity. It revealed that coal industry, hard coke industry, metallurgy industry, electricity industry made the greatest influence on the secondary industry, compared to the travel industry in the tertiary industry.This article made restructuring measures and proposals for the three major industries on the base of the study above.
