Research On The Influence Of Scale Management In Land On Export Competitiveness Of Agricultural Products In China

With economic globalization, the export competitiveness of agricultural products has become an important symbol and means of implementation for modern agricultural development in China. But the small-scale and dispersive management in land is becoming one of the barriers of the agriculture modernization, and the cost and productivity couldn’t compete with large-scale agriculture in the developed countries. So scale management in land is not only objective request of agriculture modernization, but also an important way to enhance the export competitiveness of agricultural products. Therefore, study the influence of scale management in land on exports competitiveness of agricultural products in China, could provide the reference for agriculture modernization in China and make export policies of agricultural products.After making a statement of related concepts and theoretical basis, and an analysis on scale management in land, we found that agricultural modernization still in the initial stage in China. Specifically speaking, based on land input, our scale of land management still too small, and this size of land will have a bad impact on the position of agricultural products in international market; and based on agricultural productivity, the labor productivity shows a obvious growth trend, but the land productivity doesn’t show a obvious growth trend. On the other hand, after comparing and analyzing the current situation of export competitiveness of agricultural products in China, we found that the total volume of agricultural products trade has showed growth trend, but since 2004, the agricultural product has showed deficit. Compare the export competitiveness of agricultural products with American and Japan, we found that our export competitiveness of agricultural products still at an inferior position. Then the study discuss the influence mechanism of scale management in land on export competitiveness of agricultural products from the angle of land intensification, agriculture mechanization and production technicalization. After that we established an empirical model and demonstrated the influence of scale management in land on export competitiveness of agricultural products by using the annual time-series data from 1986 to 2013 in China. The empirical test results indicated:(1) in long term, the land intensification has a positive impact on export competitiveness of agricultural products, but in short term the land intensification has a negative impact on export competitiveness of agricultural products.(2) No matter in long term and in short term, the agriculture mechanization has a positive impact on export competitiveness of agricultural products, and production technicalization has a negative impact on export competitiveness of agricultural products. Consequently, we concluded that scale management in land can enhance the export competitiveness of agricultural products in China, and specific suggestions are:(1) Establishing a farmland transfer mechanism for decrease the production cost of agricultural products.(2) Increasing the investment of agricultural mechanization for improve the productivity.(3) Increasing the investment of agricultural science and technology input for improve the technological content of agricultural products...
