In recent years with the vigorous development of tourism, the demand of tourist commodity structure is changing. Cultural tourism promotes tourism activities, it not only has the general tourism activities for tourists sensory enjoyment, also meet the visitors’ enjoyment of cultural spirit. Tianshui is a tourist city in Gansu Province, Old tianshui has a long and unique cultural resources. Tourism commodity demand is high, market prospect is considerable. Tourism commodity plays an important role in the status of tourism economic system, but there are a series of problems on the development of tourist commodities. From the overall, although Tianshui tourism commodity category is various, most is like chicken ribs, tasteless, especially lack of brand products. Numerous tourist commodities have higher request for technology and culture to highlight the local characteristics, also have the function of the tourist commodities, although they belong to high-end consumption, sales are still popular. There is a very serious problem in mid-range of tourism commodity market, mainly cheap import, these items can be purchased in any area of the country, without any design ideas and cultural features.Tourism commodity is not only a part of the tourism resources in tourism destination, but also the important content of tourism activities. Scientific and effective development and management of tourism commodities is of great practical significance to enhance the economic benefits of tourism. This paper is about the research on design of tourist products in Tianshui city, hopeing to contribute to tourism construction in my hometown, the author through the market research of Tianshui tourism commodity. From the product semantics perspective to elaborate the design concept of Tianshui tourism commodity, analyzes and reference the outstanding design cases, and through the design practice of Tianshui tourism commodity development put forward the workable development ideas.
