Analysis On Structural Changes In Fujian Farmers’ Income And Its Influencing Factors

Since China’s reform and opening up, China’s economy has been booming, the agricultural production has made remarkable achievements,and people’s living standard has improved significantly.However, the expansion of the income gap between urban and rural residents,the phenomenon that the output of grain increased while the income of the farmers not,and the slow growth of farmers’ income,these phenomenons are becoming more and more significant and have become the bottleneck of China’s modernization.The problem of farmers’ income is the core and the key to the problem of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers".Increasing farmers’ income is the fundamental starting point and the foothold to solve the problem of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers".What’s more,it is an important factor related to the sustained and healthy development of China’s national economy, social harmony and stability.Domestic and foreign scholars discussed the issue of farmers’ income from various angles,and their research results are quite rich.But there are not many which research the changes and influencing factors of farmers’ income in Fujian province from the perspective of farmers’ income structure.So,according to the data released by the official statistical yearbook and other scholars’ research achievements, this paper analyses the phased characteristics of farmers’ income in Fujian province and the changes of farmers’ income structure firstly.Then it is concluded that the main features of farmers’ income structure in Fujian province are:the household income and wage income have been the dominant, they constitute the main source of farmers’ income; The proportion of property income and transfer income has remained low.Secondly, this paper analyses the influencing factors of the farmers’ income in Fujian province from the perspective of several sources of income.Combined with the official statistics data in 1993-2013 on the basis of theoretical analysis, it analyses the influencing factors of household income and wage income empirically by using the method of multiple linear regression.And the conclusion is:On the factors which influence farmers’ household income, the level of agricultural mechanization,the education level of rural labor force, the transfer of rural surplus labor force and rural fixed assets investment,they have significant positive impact on farmers’地household income, while rural financial development has negative impact.On the factors which influence farmers’ wage income, the education level of rural labor force, fiscal expenditure for agriculture and the transfer of rural surplus labor they all have significant positive correlation with wage income.Finally, on the basis of farmers’ income structure change analysis and theoretical and empirical analysis of the influence factors of farmers’ income structure,this paper put forward some policy suggestions to increase farmers’income in Fujian province:The first is to increase the investment in agricultural science and technology, and to improve the level of agricultural mechanization;The second is to strengthen the education and train for farmers, and to improve their overall quality; The third is to optimize the structure of fiscal support for agriculture, and to strengthen the supervision of the fund for agriculture; The forth is to develop rural financial institutions of new type; The fifth is to promote the development of urbanization and guide the transfer of rural surplus labor force; The last but not the least is to improve the rural social security system.
