| The problem of greenhouse effect is being more and more serious and research of ecosystem carbon sequestration has been put on the agenda. Land use and land cover change is one of the important driving factors on global carbon cycle. Human beings’ economic activities influence the change of land use pattern and LUCC has significant effects on the global carbon cycle and climatic variation. Therefore, studying the relation of LUCC and carbon stock on regional scale is helpful to understand the influence mechanism of ecosystem carbon cycle, explore reasonable land allocation plan and perfect the ecological environment.Ecological environment of mining city is fragile and ecological activities like mining triggered obvious changes on land use types. Studying its ecosystem carbon sequestration is of great significance. Based on the remote sensing images of 1987, 1995, 2004 and 2010 of Wu’an City, with the help of Arc GIS technology and In VEST model, this paper analyzed LUCC and dynamic ecosystem carbon sequestration of Wu’an, and the main research contents and conclusion are as follows.(1) Revealing LUCC characteristics of mining cityComprehensively using land use dynamic index and transfer matrix of land use to analyze the temporal and spatial variation of Wu’an City. For the time scale, the general land use change trend is the increase of forestland, grassland, construction land and the decrease of arable land, land for mining industry and water. The change of land spatial pattern has taken place influenced by human activities and policy.(2) Studying dynamic change features of carbon reserve in mining cityBased on the present land use maps of Wu’an City and carbon density of different land use types, using the carbon module of In VEST model to calculate carbon stocks of Wu’an City and study temporal and spatial changes of different land types’ carbon reserve, and then distinguish the area of carbon sink, carbon source and carbon balance. Research results showed that from 1987 to 2010, the carbon sequestration ability of study area has a certain degree of ascension, however, the potential of carbon sequestration is on the decline.(3) Exploring the relationship of LUCC and carbon sequestration in mining cityCombining the LUCC and carbon reserve changes of Wu’an City to analyze the influence of LUCC on carbon sequestration. Research results showed that carbon sequestration ability of different land use types has consistent with its carbon density. Carbon stock change of different land use types has consistent with its area change. Carbon space distribution characteristics and spatial distribution of land use types also presents greater consistency. The transform of different land use types has effects on the changes of entire ecosystem carbon stock.(4) Proposing ecological land use measures of mining cityThe relationship between LUCC and ecosystem carbon sequestration are inseparable and the transformation between different land types are important factors result in the change of carbon stocks. Finally, the paper put forward measures of perfecting land use structure, optimizing industrial pattern and promoting land use optimal allocation to provide references for reasonable land use planning scheme and improving the ecosystem service function. |
