Food is the first necessity of human, and food is based on soil. Assuring the food security is the priority of administering state affairs and ensuring national security;farmland resource is the lifeline of national food security. Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China definitely proposes the national food security strategy under the new trend of “keeping the initiative in our hands; ensuring the output capacity; keeping moderate import; supporting with science and technology”. In2014, our total output of food reached 607.099 million ton, which increased 0.9% than that of the last year and made historical breakthrough of “increasing for successive 11years”. However, the hidden farmland resource restriction and “trap” behind the “miracle”of increase production of food in China is till tense and will exist for a long time: the trend of farmland “non-agricultural-transformation”, “non-food-transformation”, and “grain ration-transformation” caused by the accelerating promotion of industrialization and urbanization, increase of farming opportunity cost, and reduction of comparative profit continues to extend; the rigid restriction of farmland resource to food production is tense;the traditional extensive production manner is deep-rooted in rural areas, whose compulsory and overloading usage to farmland severely restricts the comprehensive food production capacity of the future farmland. Continuing the increase food production miracle in the future faces big challenge. Therefore, in order to realize the sustainable increase production of food and assure China food security, it is indispensable for us to explore the scientific, reasonable, and intensive usage channel of farmland resource, fully improve the assurance degree of farmland resource to food security and comprehensive food production capacity to really realize “storing the food on the land” and finally break the food increase production dilemma caused by farmland resource restriction and extensive usage. For the restriction of farmland resource usage to sustainable food increase production and objective trend, supported by land economic theory, famer household economic behavior theory, and food security theory, based on annual statistics and famer household micro on-the-spot survey data in Hubei, the essay concludes and learns experience from domestic and foreign relevant research results to explore and analyze the principle ofinfluence of farmland resource usage on food production on macro and micro levels by comprehensively using measuring economics model and mathematical statistics analysis tool. First, LMDI method is used to construct the decomposable model of farmland usage effect of food output change to explore the phased and regional difference of influence of farmland resource usage on total output change of food in Hubei from the perspectives of time and space. Furthermore, on the basis of the expanded Cobb-Douglas production function, the empirical model of famer household family food production is established;WLS method is used to explore and analyze the principle of influence of famer household family farmland resource usage on single production of food; and the difference of influence of variables on pure famer household and accumulate-activity-household is explored from the perspective of farmer household differentiation. Summing up the researches and explorations above, some major conclusions are drawn:Firstly, from the perspective of time-integration effect, the structural effect of farmland resource usage is the primary factor which causes the change of total food output in Hubei; the next is the scale effect of farmland; the last are strengthen effect and breadth effect. Planting structure has remarkable reduction effect on food production in Hubei;single food production and multiple-cropping index has increase effect on food production;farmland scale has two-way driving effect on food production; the increase of single food production is the key factor for food production in Hubei to increase continuously in recent 10 years.Secondly, from the perspective of regional difference, farmland resource usage has remarkable dominating effect on food output change in different areas of Hubei. Huangshi,Jingzhou, Jingmen, and Suizhou are dominating areas of scale effect; Wuhan, Shiyan,Yichang, Xiangyang, Ezhou, Xiaogan, Huanggang, and Xianning are dominating areas of structural effect; Xiantao, Tianmen, Qianjiang, and Shennongjia are dominating areas of strengthen effect; and Enshi is the dominating area of breadth effect.Thirdly, there exists remarkable “scale non-economic” effect of farmland usage in the farmer household in main food producing regions in Hubei; while the “scale non-economic ” effect of farmland usage in the accumulate-activity-household is more obvious than that of pure-farmer household; the degree of fragmentation of farmland has remarkable restriction influence on the improvement of level of single food output in farmer household.Fourthly, the high-strength investment of fertilizer and farm chemical are still major measure for food increase output in farmer household in main food producing regions in Hubei. Farmer household production link ignores the sustainability of farmland output capacity. The effect of average fertilizer usage on the food increase output in accumulate-activity-household is smaller than that of pure-farmer-household; the contribution of traditional labor factor to single food output in farmer household is not remarkable any more.Fifthly, farmland index per person in household has reduction effect on the level of single food output in farmer household, which has the most remarkable effect on accumulate-activity-household; accumulate-activity operation promotes the improvement of single food output; the “external negative ” effect of agricultural natural disasters on food output of farmer household is especially obvious in recent years.
