Land resource is the basis of human survival and development and land use is one of the methods that human activities impact the environment. In the 21 st century, the contradiction of land resource between supply and demand is raising because of lots of reasons, which include rapid development of social economy, continued population growth and continuously push forward of urbanization and industrialization. Agricultural land is the material basis of human survival, which has not only important production function, but ecological function. During the agricultural use of land resources, only the production effect is always paid attention on, while the ecological effect of farmland is barely, which leads to the unreasonable use of farmland and many problems raised. Recent years, the economy of Huanghua City develops rapidly and the level of urbanization keep improving, but agricultural production is also the leading industry of the city. The ecological environment of Huanghua City is vulnerable and ecological status is outstanding, meanwhile the proportion of farmland is large. So it’s very important to take the ecological effect into account during agricultural production, and it means a lot to improve the multifunction effect of land use in study area. This paper analyzes the changes, deficiency and constraints of multifunction effect from the perspective of land use versatility, and then proposes a solution, which is great significant of multifunctional use of farmland. By building the evaluation system of farmland use effect, this article evaluates the farmland use effect in Huanghua City and functional partition, in order to provide theoretical support for reasonable use of land resources in Huanghua City. The contents are:(1) Analyze the dynamic variability and spatial clustering of production effect and ecological effect of farmland in Huanghua City during 2003-2012 by building the evaluation system of farmland use effect, and the results show that: the production effect of farmland in Huanghua City shows increasing trend, but the ecological effect shows the opposite. From the perspective of realization rate of farmland use effect, the production effect and ecological effect is moderate sustainable level, which needs further improving.(2) This paper analyzes the spatial distribution of farmland use effect of Huanghua City in 2012 and township as the basic unit, the result shows aggregating feature of farmland use effect in Huanghua City. The areas with better production effect mainly locate in the west of the city that far away from sea, while the areas of better ecological effect locate in northeast of the city, and the characteristics of the spatial agglomeration can provide support for land use regionalization in Huanghua City.(3) Use gray correlation model and resistance model to analyze the limiting factors of production effect and ecological effect of farmland in Huanghua City, and we know that recent years, the main limiting factors of production effect are quality of cultivated land, natural disaster and the area of farmland under irrigation, while the main limiting factors of ecological effect are forest coverage, ecological land area per capita and water land proportion. Finally dividing the whole Huanghua City into three zones of ecology, production and life by overlay method, and proposing suggestions for construction of land use regionalization combining the limiting factors.
