Land resources has always been the foundation of human survival and development, it is the basic source of wealth created by mankind and land use is which human use to obtain the needed product or service and the most basic production activities. Land resources is a nonrenewable resource, population, cultivated land quantity is less a result of people contradictions and economic development and cultivated land resources demand contradictions increasingly sharp is the main condition of land resources of our country at present. Cultivated land is the most important part of land resource, there is no substitute for the factors of production in the process of economic development, and cultivated land is also the foundation of guaranteeing a national grain security. Cultivated land change is the core content of the research of land use change. In recent years, with China’s rapid economic development, industrialization and city change a course continues to accelerate, the rapid population growth, sharp contradiction between people and land, land issues have become increasingly prominent, and therefore must be scientific and reasonable configuration of land resources, promoting the sustainable use of cultivated land. This paper takes the land supply and demand contradiction of Beibei in Chongqing as the research object, using remote sensing, land use data and social statistical data as the main data source, using remote sensing technology and GIS spatial analysis technology as a comprehensive analysis of cultivated land dynamic change characteristics of Beibei from 2000 to 2012, and the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis method to study the land use change driving mechanism, in view of the Beibei actual situation, put forward the countermeasure and suggestion of reasonable utilization and protection of cultivated land resources. The concrete content includes six parts:the first part is the research background, research significance, domestic and foreign research and research programmers; the second part is the overview of the study area, mainly introduced the natural, social situation and the situation of land use; the third part is the analysis of cultivated land change in Beibei, including the timing changes, spatial distribution pattern, spatial variation morphological changes and spatial structure change; the fourth part is the land use dynamic change driving force of qualitative and quantitative analysis; the fifth part in view of the above content, and puts forward some countermeasures for cultivated land protection and reasonable utilization; the sixth part is the conclusion and outlook, summarizes the main research results and point out the direction of further study. The main research results include:(1) During 2000-2012, Beibei, the total area of cultivated land decreased, roughly divided into stable period, the rapid decline period and slow decline period of three stages; at the same time, area of. farmland of average per capita also showed changes consistent with the total area of the trend. (2) The distribution of relative change rate values show significant regional differences of cultivated land in Beibei and spatial distribution of cultivated land. (3) In 2003 Beibei cultivated land spatial distribution pattern of order degree reaches the minimum, then cultivated form has been optimized, and then the order degree is continuouslyimproving, finally tends to be stable; and in recent years cultivated density in Beibei from north to south, east is higher than west, cultivated land center to reserve resources of cultivated 1(?)d of plenty, the contradiction between people and land is easing moves in the direction of. (4) From 2000 to 2012, the dry land accounted for a large proportion of the farmland structure types in Beibei, the area of paddy field and dry land decreased, but the intensity and speed of the change were different. From 2000 to 2006, in Beibei, each administrative unit the land secondary to class number showed a decreasing trend. The vast majority are no majority of the number of dryland irrigation facilities. Each administrative unit the land secondary class accounted for the proportion of overall volatility is not more stable and the quantity of dry reduce occupy a large proportion. From 2006 to 2012, the land secondary class number generally still in decline, proportion of fluctuation is on a study of the acute phase, changes in the study period rate numerical was significantly higher than that in a period of study, mostly obvious changes in the quantity of paddy field area. (5) Policy factors, urbanization, economic factors, demographic factors and agricultural science and technology are the main driving factors of cultivated land resources in Beibei which influence the dynamic change in research period.
