Research On The Impact Of Social Responsibility System On China's Foreign Trade And The Strategy Toward It

Before the 1990s, most Chinese enterprises still had no idea about the notion"social responsibility". However, with the acceleration of globalization, the massive wave of social responsibility began to land China. With the entry into 21st century, Chinese foreign trade enterprise came to realize that fulfilling the social responsibility was the prerequisite for survival in the global competition. Under such background, how to buck for the sustainable development and strive for the international competitiveness are pressing for the Chinese enterprises to think about and handle them.First, starting with the historical evolution of the social responsibility system, this article illustrates how the social responsibility movement has hastened the social responsibility standards, and in return standards of social responsibility formed responsibility system. Moreover, this article expresses"Global Compact", SA8000, and ISO26000 which impose greater impact on Chinese Ex-Im trade, and their backgrounds, details and the impacts towards China.Second, this article will analyses the social responsibility system towards Chinese foreign trade from pros and cons two aspects. Although from short-tem perspective, social responsibility system reduces the international competitiveness of China's labor-intensive enterprises, affects the surviving and development of the middle and small size export enterprises, also blocks the enthusiasm of the foreign investors as well as the domestic employment. Moreover, over-standard social responsibility will probably delay the industrialization in China, and then restrict the economic development. But the social responsibility is the tide of global economic development which will promote our country's foreign trade greatly. And then, using microeconomics, environmental economics and Modern Management Ethics, this article will analyze the favorable effects brought on the foreign trade by social responsibility from five aspects. Namely, increasing the enterprise's social responsibility can accelerate the transformation of way in trading development, promoting the sustainable development of foreign trade, lessening trade surplus, promoting the trade balance, decreasing trade friction, improving the healthy development of trade, and strengthening the international competitiveness of foreign enterprises.At last, this article proposes some advices from the government and enterprises aspects. The governments should switch the guiding principle, realize the balance between the foreign trade development and social development, further perfect the laws and rules, intensify the law enforcement management, enhance the supervision on the foreign enterprise especially the Processing trade enterprises, encourage the trade unions to establish social responsibility standard, take a positive role in the establishment and popularization of ISO 26000, improve the structure of trade, develop the trade in service in large extent.The enterprises should understand the social responsibility system correctly, face it positively, abide by laws and rules, promote the sustainable development of enterprises, increase the creative capability by themselves, realize the upgrading of the products, promote the strategy of brand, build a healthy figure in the international market. Only through this can realize the sustainable development of foreign trade, and the balanced development of the economy, and then make contribution to the balanced development of world economy.
