However, with cutting-throat competition and managerial issues exposed, M bank has confronted rigorous challenges in international business including weakening competitiveness and brain drain, all of which calls for imperative reforms in performance evaluation system in international business team. By digging out existing issues in performance evaluation method and making specific improvements, the goal is to sharpen its market competitiveness eventually.Based on performance evaluation theory and commercial banking theory, this paper tries to dig out existing issues in performance evaluation system in international business team in M bank and analyses the causes behind the issues so as to optimize specifically. In order to optimize the system, firstly this paper set the principles and goal of the optimizing cause. Then, using SWOT analysis framework, it outlines the opportunities/strengths/threats/ weaknesses the team faces. Then by adopting balanced scorecard and KPI method, we set key indicators in 4 dimensions of balanced scorecard. We separate the assessment object into product manager group and operation group and clarify their specific objectives by differentiated evaluation through dimensions and different weights. To ensure the fairness of the evaluation process and activate staff participation, some factors are also taken into consideration, which includes an evaluation panel, evaluation implementing process /amendment process and feedback process. Besides, we also need to clarify how to apply the results of the evaluation. This paper provides some references for the commercial banks to build an effective and scientific performance evaluation system in international business group.
