Study On Coordinated Development Of New Urbanization And Industrial Structure In Liaoning Province

Urbanization is the key to expand domistic demand, and is also the engines to economic growth; Industrial structure adjustment and upgrading is the main focus of the economic structure adjustment and the transformation of growth pattern, and the both are important power for economic and social development. A high relevance exist in urbanization and industrial structure, urbanization offers factors and space to industrial structure, meanwhile, industrial structure provides urbanization economic support and persistent motivation. Achieving the coordination will greatly promote economic and society development. As a core region of the northeast area industrial base, it is important for Liaoning to get the chances that goverment’s supportive policies to urbanization and the revitalization of northeast area industrial base, to achieve a higher quality of economic and society development by using coordination force between urbanization and industrial structure.The thesis explores the coordination mechanism is based on the theories of urbanization and industrial structure; and analyses the current situation of urbanization and industrial structure in Liaoning; and establishes the urbanization comprehensive index system in the perspective of population, economy, society, space, ecology, and the industrial structure comprehensive index system from two aspects of updating and rationalization structure, then using the temporal data from 1995 to 2012 and the cross sectional data in 2012 in Liaoning, and applying the method of factor analysis and the coordinated degree model(CDM) to analyze spatial-temporal characteristics in Liaoning. The study shows, in the term of time, the coordinated degree between urbanization and industrial structure of Liaoning can be generally divided into four periods: the barely coordinated period is from 1980 to 1999, the primary coordinated period is from 2000 to 2004, the medium coordinated period is from 2005 to 2009, the positive coordinated period is from 2010 to 2012; In the term of space, the coordinated degree of the fourteen cities in 2012 can be divided into three types, and most of the cities are in the middle or low level, and spatial relationship and obvious regional differentiations exist in coordinated degree and unbalanced economic development; the two aspects of the study also preliminarily shows urbanization is ahead of industrial structure; and reveals the low quality, the extensive model, the mismatch layout, the low efficiency is the main problems in the coordinated development. Then attempt to propose the following suggestions for the coordinated development in Liaoning: Promoting the function of urban and industrial structure is the essential, docking the industrial layout and urban pattern is the basis, the integration of industry and town is the critical path, the security policies are the guarantee, all these complement each other to a new coordination path.
