Recent years the tourism industry has been developing vigorously, at the same time,increasing importance has also been attached to the tourism images of the the city. All cities are eager for building an outstanding tourism image to draw the attention from all around.Shi Jiazhuang is a city possessing many tourism resources,which are in high quality. But many tourists don’t know what special tourism resources this city has and they get an vague memory for the tourism in this city.Particularly, due to the rising effect of hazy weather, the reports on haze problems by all the famous websites and media with national coverage rate such as CCTV(China Central Television) increase gradually. Shi Jiazhuang, as the worst provincial capital, frequently presents itself to people as a disgraceful image.The serious hazy weather mostly occurs to people when they talk about Shi Jiazhuang.This dissertation aims at the research of the tourism images presented by media and felt by travelers in Shi Jiazhuang to try to help build an excellent tourism image for this city.This dissertation is divided into six parts. The first chapter is literature review, which includes the significance of the subject, the background of the research, the conclusive description about the related city tourism image research at home and abroad as well as the explanation about the main research methods in this dissertation. The second chapter gives a brief introduction to Shi Jiazhuang and its tourism images, also a brief and analytical review. The third chapter is the central part. In this part, representatives will be chosen from the old and the new media as the samples. By the method of same period sampling, we get the samples related to Shi Jiazhuang tourism and then make them documented and analyzed to give a comprehensive tourism image presented by media. Besides, the analytical results of this chapter is the basis of the questionnaire design. The fourth chapter is about the analysis and presentation of the questionnaire by travelers in Shi Jiazhuang.It targets at finding the differences of tourism images presented by travelers and media. The fifth chapter will give a SWOT analysis to the spreading process of tourism images in Shi Jiazhuang and supply some favorable suggestions and provide some references for this city to build outstanding tourism images. As the final part, the sixth chapter is about the result of essay.
