Since the 1990 s, with the development of economic globalization, an enterprise has been no longer a single entity to compete with other enterprises in the global market, it has been a part of a supply chain, and the competition between enterprises has become the one between supply chains. As humans entered networked era, on the one hand, operation efficiency of supply chains is improved; on the other hand, challenge and threat are brought to the supply chain networks, whether or not supply chains can operate with health and stabilization becomes a prominent problem, the study about supply chain is increasingly concerned by scholars, they start to widely research supply chain network from the perspective of complex networks. Based on backgrounds above, the paper studies China’s automobile manufacturing supply chain network through the theory and method of complex networks, the paper contents two parts:Part one, construct a supply chain network mode of China’s automobile manufacturing. Firstly, the model is built based on analyses and simulations about relations between supply and demand of enterprises in China’s automobile manufacturing. Then, verify the model is a complex network from scale-free and small-world two aspects, so we can study it from the perspective of complex networks. Finally, three important statistical properties of the model are analyzed, which includes average degree and degree distribution, clustering coefficient, average path length, we find that average degree obey power-law distribution, the model is a scale-free network; clustering coefficient is zero, there is no strategic alliance between enterprises, average path length is small, the model has small-word effect, the model can well reflect the supply chain network topology structure.Part two, study robustness of supply chain network of China’s automobile manufacturing built above. Firstly, stability robustness and performance robustness are established to measuring the overall robustness of the network. Then, simulate how the robustness of the network changes when the network is disturbed randomly or attacked deliberately, according to the result of simulations, we find that effects of random disturbance and deliberate attacks on the network are obviously different, China’s automobile manufacturing supply chain network has great robustness to random interferences, but it has a strong vulnerability to deliberate attacks. Finally, put forward strategies of protecting the core enterprise and forming a proper strategic alliance to optimizing the robustness of the network.
