On Establishing Knowledge Map Of Biography Data Based Upon Ontology

Knowledge map, as an important concept of knowledge management, can provide navigation and retrieval of knowledge for users through the knowledge nodes, relation and links. Knowledge map cause the attention of researchers with the visualized service interface and structured knowledge organization. It can realize the exchange, sharing and innovation of knowledge by the organization and management under the function of knowledge map. With the ontology being introduced to knowledge map, the "knowledge’ in it will be normatively handled by the explicit concept and the standardized structure constraint of ontology, which enhance the sharing of "knowledge" and the communication of knowledge map in different areas, and realize the integration and innovation of knowledge.Biography data refers to related materials about character biography, experiences, thoughts and works etc. The organization of biography data benefits the research of character, history and the analysis of culture resource. Based on the organization of biography data, this thesis establish knowledge map of biography data based on ontology and take Xu Fuguan as an example to verify the visualization function of knowledge map.This thesis includes the following five parts.The first part is the introduction. The significance of the topic, the status of the research, which is including the application of ontology, knowledge map, and the knowledge map based on ontology are introduced in this part. Furthermore, this part expounds the goal, content and innovation points of the thesis.The second part is an overview of relevant theoretical knowledge, including the theory of ontology and knowledge map, in order to prepare for the following research.The third part is analysis of the construction of knowledge map, which is based on ontology and biography data. This part firstly analyzes the principle of the construction and the textual factors of biography data, and selects Xu Fuguan as the object of the study, and then analyzes the strategies of the construction and design the process of the construction.The fourth part is the realization of the knowledge map of biography data based on ontology. At first, this part design the ontology of the selected biography data, which including defining classes in the ontology, arranging the classes in a taxonomic (subclass-superclass) hierarchy, defining slots and describing allowed values for these slots. After that, the establishment of the knowledge map is completed. The related discussion ranges from the instantiation and formalization of ontology to the visualization and storage of the knowledge map based on ontology.The fifth part is the end of the thesis, which summarizes the outcomes of the thesis and describes the further research.
