Enhancing the well-being of the masses has increasingly become the fundamental objective of today’s government policy. The rapid increasing of vehicles had brought serious traffic jams and other social problems; it not only causes people to dissatisfied and concern urban traffic situation, but also reduces life satisfaction and well-being. In this context, the public bicycle system which promotes green trave l and sweeps around the word had achieved rapidly development in C hina; it is popular because of its convenient, environment protection, etc. However, domestic public bicycle planning is directly learn from foreign experience and lacking of systemic planning theory, the investigation of the characteristics of public bicycle use and the analysis of smart-card data are superficial. The current situation neither revealed profoundly the using characteristics of public bicycle system, nor evaluating the effectiveness of easing urban traffic pressure and improving people’s life satisfaction and wel-being.This study suggests that the popularity and usage of public bicycle cannot be regarded as a change of traffic mode, it is reasonable to study the relationship between the using character of public bicycle and well-being, from the point of the users’ attitude and emotion which comes from the change of traffic behavior. Only in this way can we correctly analysis and continue to play the role of public bicycle in urban traffic system, and promote persistent and healthy development of the public bicycle.In this paper, analyzing the usage of public bicycle as means of access to or egress from metro, based on the data of public bicycle smart-card and questionnaire survey, studying the main influences of public bicycle, arguing the relationship between the usage of public bicycle and subject well-being, trying to find the possible measure to increases people’s well-being in traffic field. The results of this study can be used as the scientific evidence for promoting well-being; also can provide the theoretical reference and decision support for public bicycle planning and operational management, playing a guiding role of more human transportation planning and construction.
