Since the New China was founded, the Chinese government has always attached great importance to food security. Reviewing the development process of China’s food security, it can be divided to three key points: consumption-based, the rising feed grain consumption and multipurpose use of food. In recent years, with the economic development and the improvement of living standards, the food consumption changed obviously as structure adjustment of food consumption and diversification of people’s nutritional needs and goals. Changes in food consumption are not only related to the stable development of society, also related to the physique of the entire national. To this end, it’s essential to make in-depth analysis of food consumption status, to determine accurately grasp the trend of food consumption, food production in the future development of the province, is essential to ensure national food security.In this study on changes in food consumption, the impact of factors such as the status and trends of research carried out. Over the years illustrate the changing food consumption structure, population, income, diet, food processing, and other factors of national policies affecting people’s different needs for food. Current situation shows that the structure of food consumption decline in the proportion of food consumption, but still dominant food consumption increasingly varieties. Future analysis showed that total food consumption growth has irreversibility, urban and rural residents grain consumption will continue to decline, the growth in consumer demand for food mainly from feed grain, industrial use of grain will be the future of food consumption, goal analysis showed that food production to make the structural optimization of focus and emphasis on the total amount of material inputs and improve efficiency of resource allocation, out of bound arable land, water resources and other conditions, nutrition and health as the goal must be to adjust the grain consumption structure, thereby protecting the balance and achieve the goal of food supply and food security.Given all these situation above, we have to take actively guide scientific and rational food consumption, open and rational use of multi-feed resources to improve food processing system and promote deep processing and comprehensive utilization of food resources, elongated grain industry chain integration and optimization of the grain distribution of resources, increase food circulation efficiency and other measures to optimize the structure of the province’s grain consumption, and promote long-term development of the food industry in the province.
