With the global economic integration, offshore software outsourcing has gradually become a new direction in the software industry. In order to reduce company operating costs, many companies divide their non-core by the form of outsourcing operations, which accelerated the pace of offshore software outsourcing.The characteristics of offshore software development project makes the management becomes more and more difficult. The use of management mode is an effective way to ensure the project management effect, so this thesis will take management mode as object, studies its design and implementation in the offshore software development projects.This thesis introduces the research background, significance of offshore software development, and development status of offshore software development in the world. Then researches related technology from the theory of project management, project management tools and communication aspects, analyzes the meaning, the advantages and disadvantages. After that, uses a true offshore software development project as the practical project, from personnel, project management tools, communication aspects, analyzes offshore software development project management requirements and project characteristics.At the same time, this thesis combines some actual experience and practical works, designs and uses the management mode in practice project. From the personnel allocation, project management tools, communication, these three directions, introduces detailed management methods. Through practice, researches and analyzes this management mode’s advantages and disadvantages, and made some improvement on that. Finally, according to the practice results, evaluates the project management mode.
