The Impacts Of Foreign Trade Situation On The Tomato Industry In Bayannaoer City

Since the 1990’s, as the most powerful industry of the city, Bayannaoer City’s tomato industry has attracted lots of big food processing corporations to the city thanks to the high-quality tomato materials coming out of the suitable natural conditions. More than ninety percent of the tomato sauce produced in those companies of the city has been exported to the foreign areas and the city has been one of the biggest market of the international tomato export market. However, the city’s tomato foreign trade still can be affected by the international trade situation. The economic crisis affected the entire industry of the city in 2009. What’s more, the export has been cut sharply because of the flood disaster in 2012 in Bayannaoer City. Therefore, Bayannaoer City’s tomato industry is still short of the ability to resist the risk from the intra-industry and the international market. In this paper, the writer divided the development process of Bayannaoer’s tomato industry into four stages based on the ups and downs in the production and export volume. Through the global trade condition and foreign trade condition of China during those four stages, answered the following questions. In the last, the writer summarized the advantages and disadvantages of Bayannaoer’s tomato industry in the international trade market with the purpose of finding out some effective ways to improve international competitive power of Bayannaoer City’s tomato industry and expand export.
