Our national economy is sprouting out, economic status appears that: gradually increased consumption level improves healthy consciousness; the structure of population appears that a low level of natural population growth rate and a more serious aging situation, which makes China’s pharmaceutical market, especially the demand for traditional Chinese medicine, continue to increase. A broad market space is built for the development of modernization of traditional Chinese medicine industry. There is independent intellectual property rights in traditional Chinese medicine industry of few industry, its domain has extended from narrow sense to healthy industry of traditional Chinese medicine industry, which may become China’s one of the most potential and competitive industries.At present, the implementation of “The Great Western Development” enters the second stage(2010-2030), to foster characteristic industries domains the highest. It can comprehensively improve and upgrade economic industrialization, marketing, ecological and specialized regional distribution which achieves a leap of economic growth. The government focus the significance on the development of pharmaceutical industry, in the “12th Five Year Plan”: constructing processing base of pharmaceutical material modernization and cultivating new advantages for pharmaceutical industry economy; Gansu provincial Party committee and the provincial government put forward that “making Gansu province to a national important medical materials processing base”, and put forward some basic ideas about the implementation of the western development strategy in Gansu Province, which provides a good opportunity for the development of pharmaceutical industry in Gansu province. Based on advantages of rich traditional Chinese medicine resources and the development opportunities of Chinese medicine industry, as early as in 2000, Gansu provincial Party committee and the provincial government give support to Chinese medicine industry in Gansu Province as few one of the five big industries.Therefore, more than ten years later, it is necessary to objectively evaluate and analyze the development of traditional Chinese medicine industry in Gansu province.According to the theory of value chain and enterprise competitiveness, internal value chain is deeply analyzed on traditional Chinese medicine listed corporations, the acquired data and material is collected and analyzed, the evaluation index system of competitiveness of traditional Chinese medicine listed corporations is constructed applying value chain theory, the factor analysis method is used to rank and comprehensively analyze and evaluate competitiveness level of national Chinese medicine listed corporations, seven factors are got which are infrastructure management, sales ability, the ability of producting and management level, logistics management ability, input and output level, the ability of enterprise assets profit, the highest comprehensive score of five Chinese listed corporation are Yunnan Baiyao, Tongrentang, Baiyun Mountain, Renhe pharmaceutical and Jilin Aodong, not only is the comprehensive score is relatively high on Yunnan Baiyao, Renhe pharmaceutical and Baiyun Mountain, but also each factor scores are at the forefront, therefore the development of each link of the value chain is more balanced. While competitiveness is low of the three Gansu Province traditional Chinese medicine listed corporations, not only from the overall perspective, but also from the perspective of every link of value chain, so intensifying efforts to improve the every link of the value chain is needed to improve the comprehensive competitiveness.
