Study On The Location According To S-Company’s Transit Shipment Centre Of East China

Company S have been providing domestic and international express delivery solutions to a wide array of customers, and the express service bases mainly on air transportation. Own airline company of S sailed in Dec2009.For the business needs, company S decided to establish a new transit shipment centre of east china in2011,which is used for express transit between areas.we need locate the most appropriate one from total alternative9places. Main work which the author accomplished during this thesis are as following:No.l Essential work before applying mathematical methodDuring demand analysis and information collection of alternative places, the author provided the essential input for applying mathematical method. At the same time, the author screened all places considering reducing redundant calculation, and eliminated those substandard places.No.2Obtain the indexes and hierarchical structure of evaluation index systemThe author researched roundly factors according to location of transit shipment centre, and selected some key factors based on representativeness and application conditions. After above work, the author transformed assuring factors to corresponding indexes, thus the hierarchical structure of location model could be established as an evaluation index system. It’s important that the applicable scope of concluding index system was defined.No.3Calculate whole index weight of the location modelUsing the expert evaluation method and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), the author calculated all index weight depended on questionnaires. It was means that the complete evaluation index system has been established and could be applied in follow-up work.No.4Calculate the most appropriate one from alternative places as the research conclusionApplying the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the author evaluated screened alternative places. In this process, quantitative index was transformed to qualitative index during nondimensionalization processing and membership grade to meet evaluative baseline. After calculating the score of every place, the author determined the appropriate place by score comparison.In this project, the author applied AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to determine the appropriate place. During researching the location of S-company transit shipment centre of east china, many common problems according to locating site in express industry were summarized. It’s beneficial to have more scientific decision-making and better management ability, and inspire applying scientific method or tool by logistics/express enterprise.Moreover and naturally, company S also got the research findings, and select a best place to build the transit shipment centre of east china smoothly. More importantly, the index system and whole project process could be summarized as a paradigm that must be able to be applied in similar or other associated project.
