Farmer cooperatives are main body which led farmers to enter the market, the new entities promotingrural collective economic development, and the effective carrier improving rural social management.Through establishing produce trade relations, farmer cooperatives provide an effective mechanism ofenhancing the bargaining position of farmers, avoiding market risks, and extending the industrial chain. And it also provides an important guarantee for the healthy development of cooperatives. Useing thesurvey data of15farmer cooperatives in Zhejiang Province, this paper analyzed the influencing factorsof cooperatives and their members’ trading relationship and members’ policy expectations for traderelations.Article established analysis framework of factors affecting trading relationship from the micro level, and made empirical research using the research data of150members of15cooperatives in ZhejiangProvince. The results show that the major factors affecting trading behavior of cooperatives membersare whether owning brands, whether providing transportation and storage services, market distance andscale of operation. Small-scale members have a strong dependence on cooperatives, and havefree-riding behavior, and product trade relations of both sides are stable. Large-scale members havemore trading channels, have a large quantity, and play a role in promoting the future development ofcooperatives, but trade relations of both sides are not stable. The two rebate system is less attractive formembers because distribution mechanism of cooperatives is not imperfect.Using Likert scale, article analyzed the policy expectations of members. The results show thatmembers’ policy expectations have three main aspects: production and marketing services policy, operating safeguards policy, management structure policy. Members have a high expectations forproduction and marketing services policy, a general expectations for operating safeguards policy, and alow expectations for management structure policy.Based on the study results, this paper presents the following recommendations. Firstly, buildingproduction and sales service system, and improving service quality. Besides, implementing policies toprotect and promote the transfer of production factors. Furthermore, improvie cooperative managementstructure and the distribution of benefits system.
