Facing of the pressure of theenergy supply, countries around the world are actively looking for alternative sources ofenergy for fossil energy. Biomass energy renewable and clean as a new energy. Therefore,more and more countries pay attention to the efficient development of Biomass energy. Patentalliance as a new mean of competition, because for the enterprise a huge competitiveadvantage, more and more widespread attention by the Biomass energy industry. Thedeveloped countries applied for a large number of patents in the Biomass energy sector,constitute a certain patent barriers to the development of Biomass energy in China.Therefore, how to bypass patent barriers in developed countries in order to the efficientdevelopment of biomass energy industry in China has a very important practical andtheoretical significance of the impact of China’s energy and even economic development.This paper firstly reviews the theoretical literature, the need to establish from the patentalliance, patent alliance with technology innovation and patent alliance in the use of combingresearch, for the introduction of the patent alliance reasonable biomass energy industry lay asolid foundation.Secondly, the use of quantitative research methods to study the relationship between thepatent alliances with patent licensing fees, patent alliance is generated due to the savingsmarket transaction costs.Again, through the necessary patents and patent holder, the alliance platform, analysis ofthe contractual relationship between the permitted three entities, it is pointed out that theconditions of the biomass energy fields with the formation of patent alliance.Finally, through the analysis of the case of other related patents in the field of Union, pointed out that the mode of operation of the patent alliance, and the specific application ofthis mode of operation to the Biomass Energy sector.Through the above analysis, we draw the following conclusions. First, the patent allianceis produced to solve the real market all kinds of transaction costs, this kind of produce broughtgreater benefits for the union. Second, overall, the biomass energy fields have the conditionsto set up the patent alliance. Third, the mode of operation of the biomass energy patent alliancepresents different characteristics at different stages. Fourth, the development of biomassenergy is inseparable from the support of the government in a series of policy.
