Today’s energy consumption is growing, energy shortage phenomenon becoming more and more prominent. Biomass is an important renewable energy source with a very promising future. In recent years, various types of biomass energy enterprises have gradually developed, but they are still facing a lot of obstacles. So it is important to analyze the current development situation and operation efficiency of biomass energy enterprises.DEA method is used on operation efficiency of biomass energy enterprises, choosing Book Value of Fixed Assets, Number of Employees, Main Business Costs as input indicators and indicators. This paper selects 16 publicly listed companies before 2009 as the analysis target, to analyze their business operations in a five-year period in 2008-2012. On the other hand, the data of 2009 and 2013 are chosen to analyze the change of current develop situation of biomass energy enterprises in different areas and types, using correspondence analysis method.The study found that in the period of 2009-2013, the technology efficiency of the sample companies improves steadily, reaching basically an effective DEA, but due to the fluctuation in scale efficiency, there occurs a widespread ineffective overall efficiency. At the same time, biomass energy enterprises in China can be divided into 3 categories. The 1st category include the biomass energy enterprises in Tianjin Province and Jiangsu Province, they locate in the forefront in some indicators but suffer an imbalanced development. The biomass energy enterprises in province like Hubei, Guangdong, Shanxi, Gansu, Heilongjiang and Hainan are the 2nd category, they rank in the middle but develop comprehensively. Guangxi and Inner Mongolia belong to the last category which is at the end of the ranking. Besides, various types of biomass energy companies have their own developments-characteristics.
