As the air condition in the city center has been so poor, the rural public transportation system has been developed, and the rapid ageing of its population, rural tourism has presented a trend of agglomeration. Based on the study of Hangzhou rural tourism agglomeration, this paper mainly explored the main factors that influence it in space. It will promote the development of rural tourism in Hangzhou, improve its competitiveness, thus this study is of important theory value and practical significance.Firstly, this study used the method of literature review, reviewed the concept, characteristics, formation and effect of rural tourism and tourism industry agglomeration. Then it studied the externality theory, industrial location theory, new competitive advantage theory, core theory of edge, and the point-axis system theory. It put forward the idea of this study and assumptions.Secondly, based on the literature, this paper put forward the research’s ideas and hypotheses of this study. Then designed the questionnaire and used some measures to control the validity of the questionnaire.Thirdly, first through on-the-spot investigation, combined the related statistical of Hangzhou rural tourism, using GIS to draw the picture of Hangzhou rural tourism’s spatial distribution. Then this paper used the recent spatial distance index, Gini coefficient and some other quantitative geography methods to analyze the distribution type of rural tourism in Hangzhou.Fourthly, by the way of doing one-to-one questionnaires and interviewing126representative major enterprises, this paper used the SPSS19.0to analyze the statistical obtained from questionnaire. This paper uses kinds of the methods, such as factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis.In the end, this paper offer practical proposals to promote the development of rural tourism in our country, from the following six aspects:"location resources","human resources","demand conditions","related and supporting industries","the role of government" and "the rurality".Combined theoretical and empirical, economic and geographic, investigation and space model analysis, this paper did deeply research on the influence on the rural tourism agglomeration and came to the following conclusions: (1)Hangzhou has335representative rural attractions, and tis rural tourism has been presented a trend of agglomeration.(2)There are six factors that affect the rural tourism agglomeration: location resources, human resources, demand conditions、related and supporting industries, the role of government and the rurality.(3)The effect of rural tourism agglomeration can be measured by four indicators:scale economies effect (profits and tourists), brand effects, learning and innovation effect, and the effect of system (government-supported efforts).(4)Specifically, the location resources have a positive impact on tourists’ effect, regional brand effects and learning and innovation effect. Human resources have a positive impact on profits effect. Demand conditions have a positive impact on tourists’ effect and learning and innovation effect. Related and supporting industries have a positive impact on profits effect. The role of government has a positive impact on profits effect, tourists’ effect, regional brand effects and government-supported efforts. The rurality has a positive impact on profits effect.
