Study On Energy Issue And Environmental Development Strategy In China

With the development of social productive forces, the human demand for energy is increasing. However, the vast majority of the energy used today still comes from the earth. People extract and use the energy so that various kinds of energy and resources are depleting. It is the humanity’s common problems faced by that whether it could meet the growing energy demand of future world. Environmental issues are another major problems related to human survival and development. Nowadays the problem of environmental pollution is very serious, and it has the trend of further deterioration. The most important factor of causing environmental problems is the pollution caused in the process of energy production and consumption. The large-scale use of fossil fuels results in the large emissions of toxic and harmful gases which pollutes the environment. Besides, it leads to the emissions of much carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas. Therefore, the implementation of energy conservation, cleaner production, improving energy efficiency is the only way for China’s future energy development strategy as the core of low-carbon economy.First, the beginning of this article has defined some of the concepts related to energy, environment and low-carbon economy and introduced related cutting-edge research, discussed the interrelation of energy production and consumption, economic development and environmental protection by statistical method with historical data, analyzed energy consumption efficiency, environmental efficiency of energy consumption, economic efficiency of energy consumption and sensitivity analysis of the efficiency curve above with SE-DEA model, predicted the energy consumption of our country using gray prediction method and discussed the issues of supply and demand of energy production and consumption. And then the paper has proposed four major problems of China’s energy development including structural imbalances, higher consumption costs, inefficiency and imbalance between supply and demand; Finally, low-carbon energy development strategy has been proposed as the core to address the above problems and has been discussed from the aspects of environmental policy, environmental technology and environmental management combined with China’s latest environmental law. Research conclusions are as follows:(1) coal and oil become the two main varieties of China’s energy consumption, but in recent years China has begun to focus on natural gas, hydropower, nuclear power, wind power and other clean energy sources;(2) China’s industrial structure is changing, but the efforts in industrial restructuring is not great, and the second industry has great proportion and high energy consumption, and energy management is still the focus. Industrial structure changes will not have a substantial impact on reducing our energy consumption;(3)The environmental efficiency of China’s energy consumption has not attracted sufficient attention, the gap between energy consumption of per unit of product and the international advanced level is diminishing, but the situation is still grim, and energy efficiency is not high;(4) China’s current energy production and consumption exists imbalance between supply and demand, and energy security issues will be highlighted.The paper mainly exists the following innovative points:the paper treats the production and consumption of energy and economic development as the theme, focuses on the three aspects of energy and the economy, energy and environment, environmental and economic and makes qualitative and quantitative analysis of the discussion, trying to find a valid path of our future energy development.
