Russia had been negotiating to join the WTO since1993, no other member of the World Trade Organization needed such a long period of time before acceding to the organization. On22August2013, Russia, after18year-long negotiations, finally became a member of the World Trade Organization. In the process of accession to the WTO, agricultural sphere was one of the most important for Russia and its trading partners, because Russia is a major exporter and importer of different agricultural commodities. In this paper we use a global computable general equilibrium model (GTAP) to research the impact of Russia’s WTO accession on agricultural trade between Russia and China. Using this program, we will examine the consequences of tariff cuts, subsidy changes and will set different scenarios of possible effects in future for both countries.
