Port equipment management is an important part of port management, it determines the operational capacity of port handling equipment。Therefore, the methods of port equipment management will become very important and concern contents of port enterprise. The paper analyzes the deficiencies of DPCE in equipment management aspects to identify effective approaches, and further improve it. It is very important for enterprise development and Enhancing the port handling capacityAnalysis found that the company’s main port facilities management questions focused on technical standards, maintenance of the normative content of the definition, the problem of a reasonable maintenance, and the mode of spare parts management and emergency response mode selection. The reasons lead to several issuese including that a high rate of equipment failure, field work is not smooth, and resource utilization is low, and staff has been affected. Referenced science theory and methods of port equipment management, the paper put forward several corresponding solutions:Uniform standards; pooling of resources, refinement hours; take the strategy of appropriate maintenance; improvement of emergency response plan; to implement parts management method named ABC.The implementation of the above method, effectively solved the problem that rights and responsibilities are not clear and lack of guidance and normative basis in equipment manager,and Injected vitality for enterprise development.This study is based on the current situation of Dalian Port Container Terminal equipment management, It has a certain reference value that how timely and effective manner to solve problems in equipment manager for major ports.
