Task characteristics of organizations are various. Task matching intra-organizational knowledge communication modes should be designed for improving the efficiency of knowledge communication. The paper systematically analyzed the knowledge and cooperation requirements which induced by task characteristics of organizations, on the basis, two simulation experiments were conducted to evaluate the results of intra-organizational knowledge communications.Firstly, this paper did theoretical research on organizational tasks and its characteristics. As organizational task is not well defined and contents of task characteristics are not specific currently, we systematically studied the organizational tasks and their characteristics by defining the organizational tasks as productive activities along the process of product output. By analyzing the output characteristics of specific products, we obtained three task characteristics of organizations:knowledge dependency, cooperation needs and staging division of task life cycle. A verification case is raised by analyzing the output features of over100products from three industries, which are obtained from "Products Catalog for Statistics: China’s National Bureau of Statistics".On the basis of three-dimensional task characteristics, two evaluation modes that based on complex network simulation were proposed as follow.(1)The knowledge communication evaluation mode on task’s cooperation characteristic. By simulating the cooperation degrees with network intensities and simulating initial knowledge status with knowledge stock distributions, this experiment evaluated the knowledge communication results of organization with different initial knowledge status and different cooperation level. The evaluation results show that:(1) The higher the cooperation level within the organization, the higher knowledge stock the organization can achieve, and the shorter the time to reach it, and the smaller knowledge stock disparity between organizational members.(2)By comparing the knowledge communication results of three initial status, we found that: the organizations with most individuals whose knowledge stock of fields are highly in medium level have the highest knowledge communication efficiency, the organizations with most individuals whose knowledge stock of fields are highly in low or high level have the lowest knowledge communication efficiency, and the organizations with most individuals whose knowledge stock of fields are uniformly distributed in low, medium and high three level can achieve highest stable knowledge stock with good efficiency.(2)The knowledge communication evaluation mode based on task’s knowledge requirement. Considering organizations have various knowledge requirement induced by various knowledge dependencies, we set evaluation rules and indexes to evaluate the communication models with different cooperation degrees and initial knowledge level. The result shows that:(1)Only the organizations with high initial knowledge level and high cooperation degree can undertake the tasks with high knowledge requirement.(2) The organizations with low initial knowledge level are not competent to the tasks with high knowledge requirement because of lacking basis foundation of knowledge.(3) When the initial knowledge level gap of organizations is low, the organizations with lower initial knowledge level and higher cooperation degree are more efficient to finish tasks than those organizations with higher initial knowledge level and lower cooperation degree.
