Equipment management is an important part of operation management in tobaccoenterprise, and is the foundation to ensure the equipment running efficiently and improvethe economic efficiency of enterprises. Changsha cigarette factory is an important cigaretteproduction factory of China tobacco Hunan Industrial CO., LTD, and has formed a set ofsystem in equipment management after few years’ development. However, there is someproblems in the current equipment management system which is no longer fit for the timesgrowth and hinder the further development of enterprises. Therefore it is the time toreconstruct the equipment management system.This paper takes the equipment management of Changsha Cigarette Factory as theresearch object. First of all, the study overreviews the concepts, development stages andtheory schools related to equipment management. Secondly, the paper analyzes the thecurrent equipment management of Changsha Cigarette Factory, including the existingequipment management system and organization structure, the status of equipment running,the main aspects of equipment management and so on, and summarizes the main problemsof the currnet equipment management system. And based-on the main problems existing inthe present stage, this paper put forward the requirements, principles and the general ideasof lean equipment management, and designs the overall framework of lean managementwhich includes the management main line about equipment life cycle, information systemconstruction, the whole resources and whole process management model and threemethods to enhance the equipment management ability of Changsha Cigarette Factoryfurtherly. And more this paper put forward the equipment management system andorganization scheme that match with the lean management architecture. Finally, based-onthe lean management framework, the paper combines the lean management with enterprisepractice, and analyzes the current lean management practice and its results that wouldprovide the reference for the future lean managment.This paper choosed Changsha Cigarette Factory that is representative in the tobaccoindustry as the research object. On the basis of equipment management work requirementsof China Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, this paper proposed the lean management frameworkbased-on equipment life cycle combined with the tobacco enterprise equipmentmanagement practice. This lean management framework would be benefit for theequipment management and the core competitiveness of enterprises. This study could be helpful for the future enterprise lean management practice to improve the level ofequipment management.
