Study On The Development Of Farmers’ Professional Cooperatives In Zhuzhou County

Farmers’ professional cooperative is a new type of rural economicorganization which developed in recent years and is a form of realization ofthe rural collective economy. It is also an effective carrier of speeding up therural economic development, enhancing the competitiveness of agriculturalproducts and improving farmers’ income. It eases the contradiction effectivelybetween small-scale production and big market under the market economy,and it promotes the development of agricultural industrialization and theconstruction of new rural economy. As a result, a large number of modernfarmers emerged. The fast development of farmers’ professional cooperativeshas pushed positively the realization of increasing common people’s incomeand the construction of upgraded development of Zhuzhou county—atraditional agriculture county.However, farmers’ professional cooperative is in the primary stage andincomplete yet. Since Law of the People’s Republic in China on farmers’professional cooperatives was put into effect on July1st,2007, farmers’professional cooperatives have faced a series of problems and difficulties inthe process of development. In order to explore further the development offarmers’ professional cooperatives which is a special main market entity, weselected Zhuzhou county as the research object. With the study of in-depthfield survey, telephone interviews, literature review, and to use the knowledgeof economics and management comprehensively, and also to use the theory of cooperative economy, theory of agricultural industrialization and theory ofnew institutional economics, it analyzed systematically the developmenthistory of farmers’ professional cooperatives, development conditions，characteristics and achievement; it also analyzed farmers’ professionalcooperatives in four angles on itself, principals, farmers and the government;it analyzed the problems existing in the development of predicting farmers’professional cooperatives in Zhuzhou county toward the development trend ofdiversification, scale, modernization and internationalization, and on the basisof summarizing successful development experiences farmers’ professionalcooperatives in domestic and overseas, we put forward some countermeasuresand suggestions to promote the development of farmers’ professionalcooperatives in Zhuzhou county. In order to build independent development,the government-oriented mode, social coordinated development of the"trinity" system, we actively set up business platform of employment for therural to help farmers increase steadily, and promoted the new ruralconstruction pace, transformation and upgrading of boostering agriculturalcomprehensive development in Zhuzhou county.
