At present, China is the largest trading partner, the largest export destination, andthe largest source of import in South Africa, Chinese market has the most importantposition in South Africa’s economic development.Although bilateral trade flow is lowin foreign trade traffic of China, but the South Africa has the important role in China’sforeign trade development.The bilateral economic and trade relations are "late start, fast development ". Theestablishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Africa in1998openeda new era of economic relations between the two countries, from then on the bilateraltrade, investment and other economic cooperation had rapid development. At present,South Africa is the largest trading partner in Africa for China and China is the largesttrading partner for SouthAfrica.The paper analysis the bilateral trade in the development of strengths,weaknesses, opportunities and threats by SWOT method, and recognize that bilateraltrade development should take ST strategy, In addition, at different times can adoptdifferent strategies, also can take different strategies at the same time, the main rule isstrengthen the advantage, overcome the disadvantage, use the opportunities anddefuse the threat.The paper mainly divides into four chapters.Chapter1is introduction, mainly discussed the research background, literaturereview, research ideas and methods and the innovations and shortcomings of thisarticle.Chapter2is divided into two stages, before and after the establishment ofdiplomatic relations, the paper outlined the history about the development of economyand trade between China and SouthAfrica.Chapter3based on SWOT method analysis the bilateral trade status, from theinternal and external environment, respectively analyzes the strengths, weaknesses,opportunities and threats.Chapter4put forward the strategies of the development of bilateral trade, there are four measures: strengthen the science and technology to developing trade, expandbilateral trade cooperation scale, actively coping with the friction in bilateral trade,moderately expanding imports in foreign trade...
