Study Of The Influence On The Cargo Throughput Of Zhuhai Port By Guangdong Industry West Transfer

To promote the economy of the east, the west and the north of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Province has raised the industry transfer policy since2008. With the encouraging industry transfer policy producing, some companies, especially the labor intensive industry and energy consumption industry, start to move to east and west of Guangdong Province and Guangxi Province. Zhuhai Port Holdings locates on the west of the Pearl River Delta, and the competition environment is very intensive. The west of Guangdong Province and the west river area both are the hinterland of Zhuhai Port. The industry transfer of Guangdong Province impacts on the hinterland economy and cargo volume of Zhuhai Port deeply.This paper discusses that the industry transfer will promote the development of Zhuhai Port, based on a lot of literature at domestic and abroad, and the theory of industry transfer. In recent years, Zhuhai Port increased investment, enlarge the scale of facilities and equipment, and promote the development of business in hinterland. This paper studies the fingers of cargo throughput of Zhuhai Port, and different cargo characteristic. With usingthe cargo throughput of major cities in Zhuhai Port hinterland, forecast the cargo throughput of major cities in Zhuhai Port hinterland in2014to2016.Based on the specific conditions of industry transfer in Guangdong and Guangxi, and the development of Zhuhai Port, this paper gives suggestions as follows:(1) to strengthen publicity to the companies in hinterland, and make the customers know about Zhuhai Port and use its terminals.(2) Increase investment on logistics resources in the west river area, and enhance the cargo control ability.(3) Develop high valued logistics services and enhance the port service ability.(4) Focus on the logistics network and information network construction.(5) Hold the opportunity of the increasing demand for grain and start the grain handling business.
