At present, there is still an oversupply in China’s labor market, and structure of employment between demand and supply is imbalance. These are increasing the pressure on our labor market. However, at the same time, the private sectors began to flourish by breaking the shackles of policy for the benefit of Reform and Opening, and they are providing a large number of jobs. This paper is trying to study the importance of development of the private sector in alleviating the grim situation of national employment as well as the comparison between the private sector and other units in stimulating employment. Then in order to find appropriate policy focus for the further employment stimulation of private sectors, the paper analyzes the employment status of private sectors in different industries and regions. This paper adopts whole-to-part method. First, by establishing econometric model, the paper studies about the private sectors in employment stimulation of the whole society, we focus on the direct and indirect employment stimulation of the development of private sector. And we find that its ability to absorb employment affected by policy and market, showing a downward trend after the first rise, but the overall maturity stabilized. Then, by calculating the employment elasticity and the contribution rate of new jobs, the paper compares the ability to absorb the labor among various units, such as private enterprises, individual units, the state-owned units in recent years, we find that private sector is still get a large space in employment absorption, and its ability in employment absorption is most stable, so the private sector is still an important point for the support of our country. At last, by study the stimulation of private sectors in different industries and regions, we find the industries and regions whose private sectors still have much room for employment development, and then confirm the focus of our policy. The innovation of this paper is studying the employment stimulation ability of private sector roundly, and makes the policy direction more clear. In addition, the paper also pays more attention to the indirect employment benefit of private sector’s development, making the reasons of employment stimulation of private sector more substantial.
