Empirical Study On The Effect Of The Scale, Efficiency Of The Producer Services On The Technology Structure Of Export

China needs to upgrade the technology structure of export, in order to achievethe transition from a country which has a large number of trades to a country whichhas a high quality of trade. Producer services provide intermediate inputs forproducers, and have important effect on economic growth and structuraladjustment. The study on whether and how producer services affect the technologystructure of export, not only has theoretical significance in enriching theinternational trade theory and the industrial economic theory, but also has practicalsignificance in promoting the technology structure of export and achieve thetransformation of foreign trade of China.Based on the existing literature, this paper analyzes the mechanism betweenproducer services and the technology structure of export. This paper then use dataenvelopment analysis (DEA) further analyzes the efficiency of the producer services.In the measurement of the technology structure of export, this paper use exporttechnology complexity index and export similarity index to analyze the currentcharacteristics of producer services and dynamic evolution of the technology structureof export respectively. Finally, this paper build dynamic panel data model, and usesmethod of static OLS and dynamic panel system sys-GMM examine the impact ofproducer services scale, efficiency and other factors on technology structure of export.On the basis of the above content, this paper draws the following conclusions:First, the status of producer services in the economy is rising and the efficiencyof productive service at the national level showed a slight negative growth. Secondly,the measuring results of the technology structure of export in technology complexityindex and export similarity index indicate that the technology structure of exportshowed an upward trend, and the level of eastern region is higher than the central andwestern regions. Third, the scale of the producer services has a positive impact on thetechnology structure of export, while the efficiency of the producer services has anegative impact on the technology structure of export. The empirical analysis shows that the effect of producer services on the technology structure of export depend onthe scale of producer services, rather than the efficiency.Based on the above conclusions, this paper proposes some policyrecommendations such as pay attention to the coordinated development of producerservices and the limitations of this study and direction of future research.
