With the deepening of opening up to the outside world,China's export trade has enjoyed rapid development, with the volume of trade standing at the forefront of the world for a long time. However, due to the advantages of low-end factors, such as labor, land and natural resources, our manufacturing products in the international production and trade system are specialized in the low-end links of the global value chain and the overall technical level of China's export products is still not high.Since the international financial crisis of 2008,the trade situation that China faces has become more and more severe. On the one hand, global trade protectionism has prevailed. On the other hand, domestic labor costs and resource costs have also been on the rise.Under this background, how to raise the level of export technology and cultivate new foreign trade advantages has become the focus of attention of all walks of life.Based on this, this paper studies this from the perspective of producer services agglomeration. At first, this paper analyzes the influence mechanism of the agglomeration of producer services agglomeration on the technology complexity of exports under different agglomeration modes in theory. Then, this article calculates specialization agglomeration index and diversification agglomeration index of producer services. From the results, the level of producer services agglomeration in all regions of China is generally low. Then, based on the method of Xu & Lu(2009)which is the revised version of Hausmann 's(2005),using China's HS-2 bit-code export data from 2004 to 2015 supported by China's National Statistics Bureau of Statistics,we have calculated the technology complexity of exports in 30 provincial-level regions of mainland China. The results show that:(1)From the perspective of sub-regions,the technology complexity of exports in the east, middle, and west regions has been increasing year by year, and the gap has narrowed.(2)Compared with labor-intensive industries,capital-intensive industry's export technology complexity is higher. After controlling for the variables such as human capital and R & D investment, the paper further empirically analyzes the impact of producer services agglomeration on the technical complexity of exports. The results show:(1)From a national perspective, the agglomeration of producer services significantly promoted the increase of export technology complexity, and the promotion effect of diversified agglomeration was more obvious, which was about three times that of specialization agglomeration.(2)In terms of sub-regions,the effects of both agglomerations in the eastern region are significantly positive, while only the effects of diversified agglomeration in the central and western regions are significantly positive.(3)In terms of the types of industries, the promotion of diversified agglomerations is obvious, but there are certain differences for different types of industries, and specialization agglomeration only has a significant role in promoting the technology complexity of the export of capital-intensive industries. In the end, this paper finally puts forward some policy recommendations on how to improve export technology complexity from the aspects of promoting producer services agglomeration, choosing reasonable agglomeration mode and perfecting system construction.
