Research On The Impact Of The Development Of Producer Services On The Quality Of Manufacturing Export Products

Since China implemented the reform and opening-up policy in 1978,foreign trade has shown a momentum of rapid development.At present,China’s total volume of trade ranks first in the world.However,looking at the global value chain,we can find that the status of China’s manufacturing industry is still low,and the export competitive advantage is more dependent on the price advantage obtained by low resources and labor costs.Under the background of"China’s economy has changed from high-speed growth stage to high-quality development stage" proposed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,how to promote the transformation from "price competition" to "quality competition" and maintain the sustainable growth of exports in the increasingly fierce international competition environment has attracted more and more attention from the government and scholars.So,how to upgrade the quality of export products?Through the analysis of the existing research,it can be found that producer services can strongly support the development of manufacturing industry and play a good supporting role in solving the current development difficulties and problems of manufacturing industry.Therefore,from the perspective of the development of producer services,this paper makes an in-depth discussion on promoting the quality upgrading of export products.At the same time,this paper discusses the impact of producer services on the quality of export products of manufacturing industry from the perspectives of development scale,development quality and development structure.By improving the original enterprise product quality heterogeneity model which only includes enterprise production efficiency and quality production capacity,this paper considers the interactive relationship between producer services and manufacturing industry,and introduces the price factor of intermediate inputs of producer services into the model.The specific expression of export product quality is calculated and obtained.Based on the expression,this paper analyzes and obtains the mechanism of the impact of the development of producer services on the quality of export products,and puts forward three research hypotheses.Then,this paper uses China’s provincial panel data from 2005 to 2016 to carry out empirical research.At the same time,considering the heterogeneity of regions and manufacturing industries,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)the change trend of China’s manufacturing export product quality from 2005 to 2016 presents a "W" shape,with two increases in 2012 and 2014 respectively.(2)The impact of the development scale,development quality and development structure of producer services on the quality of export products presents an inverted "U" shape,a promoting role and a positive "U" shape respectively.(3)The heterogeneity of regions and manufacturing industries will lead to different effects of producer services on the quality of export products.The reasons for regional heterogeneity are the differences of factor endowment and industrial level and the non spontaneous formation of agglomeration.The reason for industrial heterogeneity is that the specific demand for producer services will change with the change of manufacturing industry.With the help of the research conclusions of this paper,in order to more effectively play the role of producer services in promoting the quality improvement of manufacturing export products,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations:(1)promote the development scale of producer services,so that producer services can effectively form agglomeration and develop in the form of agglomeration.(2)Promote the development quality of producer services,increase the degree of collaborative agglomeration between producer services and manufacturing,and enhance the relevance between the two industries.(3)Promote the optimization of the development structure of producer services,correct the unbalanced and unreasonable internal development structure of producer services,and make them better play the role of a collection of experts..
